§A · WORK · ENGINEERED · NOT DECORATED

Every one had
a gate to clear.

Not screenshots of dashboards. Systems that had to satisfy someone outside the building — a health authority, a payment certification body, a procurement committee, or a field engineer at 2am with no signal.

Duty-of-care platform for staff in fragile states

An HR and safety system for a workforce deployed into conflict-affected countries. The whole product turns on one thing: a panic alarm that fires with no network, queues locally, and delivers the moment connectivity returns. Around it — movement-risk approvals routed through field security officers, security broadcasts with staff check-in, incident reporting.

Eighteen months end to end. Handed to the client's team. Still in production since 2022.

Telehealth platform, certified and handed over

Video and in-person doctor booking, real-time clinician ETA, at-home lab collection, e-prescriptions, doorstep pharmacy fulfilment, insurance integration — built from zero across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Then taken through the full health-authority approval process, launched, and handed to the client's own team. Still running and rated five stars regionally, years after we left. That it survived without us is the point.

Foreign-object detection that was failing both ways

A safety detector on an EV wireless-charging pad was firing constant false alarms at night and missing a human hand in daylight. The team wanted to lower the detection threshold. When a system fails in both directions at once, the threshold is never the problem — the decision architecture is.

Rebuilt as a two-tier detector: a model-free check that catches large objects regardless of model confidence, and the existing anomaly model narrowed to small objects with AND-gated conditions. False-alarm efficiency reached 98%, deployable the same night, with no retraining cycle.

State-scale video, costed honestly

Architecture and a three-year cost model for automatic number-plate and face recognition across 1,400 cameras — edge inference per camera rather than a central GPU wall, event-triggered retention rather than full archival, integrated into national vehicle and identity databases.

Delivered with per-camera economics and a build-versus-buy analysis, alongside a live six-camera reference deployment.

Field-service ERP across a 7,000+ ATM estate

Enterprise ERP and a field-service mobile app monitoring and servicing more than 7,000 ATMs on behalf of regional banks, with a client portal carrying live telemetry, field surveys and audit reports.

The mobile side is the part that matters: the engineer standing at the machine is the source of truth, and everything the bank sees is generated from what they captured on site.

Three-phase energy meter, reviewed before the bench

A full firmware specification for a three-phase metering device — plus a schematic review that caught three faults before anything was fabricated: a reversed isolator channel that would have killed an output, an oscillator marking off by a transposed digit, and a boot-strap conflict on a shared SPI pin.

One of the three was made correctable in firmware rather than requiring a board respin.

§02 · THE PATTERN

The gate is the job.

Most engineering teams can build something that works on a bench. The work gets hard when a body outside your company has to agree it works — a health authority, a certification lab, a procurement committee, or physics at 2am in a place with no signal.

That is the part we take. It is also why we quote fixed and finish: a gate either opens or it doesn't, and there is no partial credit for a system that almost cleared certification.

Same discipline whether the deliverable is an app, a wiring diagram between five vendors, or firmware that hasn't been fabricated yet.
